Funeral Service: 12 Noon June 06, 2008 at Hudson Funeral Chapel Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m. June 06, 2008 at Flat Rock Baptist Church, Louisburg Mrs. Gracie Hatcher Wright Davis, 86, of The Durham Regent, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Hospice at Meadowlands. She was raised in Johnston County and was a hairdresser for more than 40 years in Durham. Mrs. Davis was a former member of Creedmoor Baptist Church and attended services at Durham Regent. Her hobbies included gardening, dancing, crafts, rock collecting and travel. She also won many blue ribbons at the State Fair for her baked goods. Surviving are a son, Larry Wright of Stem; three daughters, Linda Wright Woods of Stem, Millie Wright Frazier of Louisburg and Kay Wright Morgan and husband, Joe of Durham; two brothers, Raymond Hatcher of Raleigh and William Hatcher of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Mabel Gower of Wake Forest, Ruby Lee Hogge of Monk's Corner, S.C., and Polly McGowen of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Leon Davis. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon ! at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. M.B. Collier. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Louisburg. Pallbearers will be Kimball Wright, Todd Frazier, Matt Griffin, Davis Akins, Josh Wallace and Todd Barker. Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions may be made to Duke Community Hospice Services, 4321 Medical Park Dr., Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704-2175 or the Hilltop Home for Retarded Children, 3006 New Bern Ave., Raleigh, NC 27610.
