HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D Greenwood Good morning, Y'all, In case you're wondering why I've been so quiet, I've been very busy working on the family of our newest Brit DNA tester. I now have his family back to a James and Sarah Hatcher of Somerset. I've created a separate file for this family named "English Hatchers from Somerset." What I've done is placed a number of Hatchers on this file with roots in Somerset, not knowing at this point if or how they may connect. Heather, who answered my call (the first of three and thanks to all) for subbers to Ancestry world, helped tremendously by pulling English censi for me as we worked to put this family together. But last nite, while surfing for anything I could find on Somerset records, I discovered a marvelous English research site. http://freereg.rootsweb.com/search/index.htm I'd seen this site many eons ago but they really seem to have made great strides in adding birth, marriage, death records from the parish/church registers for all counties. It is this site that gave me James and Sarah as parents of the Wm Hatcher we are working with. Any of you researching in England MUST check out this site. I suspect I could keep busy for 1/2 year just pulling Hatcher docs off this site. And just to give a few of you a chuckle and perhaps say Hmmmm, this Wm Hatcher, bn c1815, was a master WHEELWRIGHT :-) I know our Brit tester has subbed to our mailing list but will leave it up to him if he wishes to identify himself by name. That goes back to my responsibility as DNA Group Admin to not ID testers by name without their permission. Cheers, Nel
