Lease/Release admitted to record 20th August 1755. -------------------------------- If I'm reading this correctly, even tho the deed is recorded in Fairfax, VA (which it must be), Tom and Hannah Janney are still living in BucksCo, PA, when this deed was written in Oct 1752. I believe it would have been WRITTEN and SIGNED in BucksCo which would also confirm that Wm/Ann and (son) John Hatcher (the witnesses) were also still living in Bucks in 1752. This deed would then have been given to son, Mahlon Janney, living in Fairfax, who would then have signed it and presented it to the Fairfax Court for recording. Please note also that Tom Janney acquired this VA land in 1741 (just as Wm/Ann acquired theirs in 1744) yet did NOT move immediately to that land. In fact, Tom never lived on it at all and probably died in PA. Now, if this thinking is correct (is it?), this would also indicate that dau, Sarah Hatcher, would likely have married her Russell in PA and NOT in VA as every online file shows. And unless she and her husband moved to VA before her parents, some of her children, likely including Robert (if these kids are really hers), were also born in PA and not in VA. Thoughts? Ideas?
