You are very welcome and I will be glad to share anything else you might need. I checked to see what I had listed on Mercy in my genealogy program and found 2 notes: "Joshua requested his membership be moved from Haddonfield MM to Hopewell MM. The couple's twins and apparently 1st children were born in 1753." "Children listed in Hopewell MM records: Grace b. 8 10 1753 Mary b. 8 10 1753 Joshua b. 10 12 1754" According to Wilmer Kerns book Frederick Co, VA After the death of Joshua Mercy married a James McCormick in 1758--but I haven't checked this out for myself. I have you placed now--Mercy from the family Joseph Lupton and Mary Scarborough Pickering had together. A few years ago I was contacted by I think a descendant of the son Jonathan who was rightly confused. It is something to untangle with the Lupton/Scarborough/Pickering/Twinings and all their marriages and children and the repeated names. And yes the Haines are always popping up. There are so many of them! I descend from Richard Haines (b. abt 1638, d. aboard ship 1682) and his wife Margaret (last name unknown). Do you know where Joshua who married Mercy Lupton fits in the picture? I do not seem to have parents for him. Burnis **************Gas prices getting you down? Burnis, My ancestor is also the same Richard Haines. He is my 9th great grandfather. At this time the only connection I see with Mercy Lupton is that she married Joshua Haines who is my 1st cousin 8 times removed. However if we keep filling in the blanks we may find more connections. Joshua Haines' parents are Abram or Abraham Haines and Grace Hollingshead. I have a good reference book on the Haines. It was written by a?John Wesley?Haines titled Richard Haines and His Descendants. A subtitle is A Quaker Family from Burlington County, New Jersey from 1682. Thanks for your help!
