Nell & others, Does anyone have thoughts about why Alfred Hatcher, son Of Josiah and Elizabeth left Buckingham County ca 1850 to live with the Siron family in Highland County? They seem to have taken him in as one of the family, not hired help. I don't know of any Crews family connection in Highland County. Vanessa Crews

A lot of kids went into town to live with families so that they could attend school. Could that be the reason? Not sure of Alfred's age in 1850. Always something to wonder about!
