HATCHER was born September 16, 1952, and was called to glory on August 9, 2008, by her Lord. She was a woman of God, loving mother and grandmother, community leader, and known as "Nana." Lanita had a giving and uplifting spirit for her family and community. Graduating Huntington Junior Business College, she earned dual degrees in business. She was an employee of Cabell Huntington Hospital and co-founder of the Positive People Association Inc. As a member of The Glorious Church of God in Christ, she served on the usher and Missionary Boards. She was a daughter of the late Herbert O. Hatcher, and Mary O. Hatcher-Binder, who survives. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Shelah R. and Shelmona R. Branch and one son and his wife, Norman A. (Leah) Branch; two step-daughters, Yvette Logan and Del Rio McBrown; and one stepson, Norman H. Branch II; 17 grandchildren; six sisters; two brothers; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of her Life wil! l be 1 p.m. Saturday at The Original Glorious Church of God in Christ, 1516 10th Ave., Huntington, with Elder George Scott and pastor Martha Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call from noon until the time of service Saturday at the church.
