He was 45. Mr. Higgins was born April 25, 1962, in Pittsburgh to Elcye Ferguson Higgins McAlpine of Irwin and the late Joseph George Higgins. A master carpenter and electrician, he was a machinist for E.D.M. Services, Forbes Road. Mr. Higgins was a Navy veteran and member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Susan Katherine Hatcher Higgins; his daughter, Theresa Diana Higgins (and fiance, John Rose) of Export; his sister, Debra Voich (and husband, John) of Delmont; stepbrother, James Taylor of Irwin; mother-in-law, Thelma Hatcher of Claridge; sister-in-law, Carolyne Hoenshell-Kirik (and Thomas) of Greensburg; brother-in-law, Eugene Davidson of Jean-nette; a nephew, George Fer-guson; and his pet, Little Emma. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and a niece. Family and friends were received at Vaia Funeral Home Inc.
