He was born in Slabfork, West Virginia on January 20, 1936. He was 72. Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel on Wednesday, August 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m. He attended Alta Vista (K-8th) and was a Porterville High School graduate, class of 1954. He was employed at Hildebrand Bakery for 2 years, Merritt's Packing for 1 year, Linders for 14 years, Billious for 13 years, Trimmer of Fresno for 2 years and Morris Levin & Son for 13 years. His hobbies included outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, gold mining, rock collector, created jewelry, lapidary, and home improvements of his house. He was a John Wayne fan and enjoyed military movies. He had memberships with Handyman Club of America, North American Hunting and National Rifleman Association. He was a member of Masons, Shriners, The Tehran Temple and Scottish Rites. He achieved his 32nd degree with the Masons. He was highly skilled and certificated in various brand names of small engines, chains saws, and hardware products for home/business. He served in the National Guard of California as a Sergeant E5. He is survived by his wife Charlene Hatcher of Porterville, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 20th; daughter Deborah and her husband Jeffrey Stockton of Porterville; son Rick Hatcher and his companion Laurel Lakin of Porterville; brother Howard Hatcher and his wife Delores of Bakersfield; sister June and her husband Ira Dunlap of Porterville; six grandchildren, Shawnee, Justin and Alexis Hatcher and Thomas, Robert and Joseph Stockton; and 1 great-grandchild, Shayne Hatcher. He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Sadie Hatcher and his brother James (Big Jim) Hatcher. Special thank-you to Optimal Hospice (Nancy, Pam, Michelle, Gayle, Pastor Greg, Debbie, Christine, Alisa), Dr. Falappino and staff and Sierra View District Hospital staff. Tom was a very loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
