Reed The Register Herald, Beckley, W.V. LERONA - Willa R. Reed, 79, of Lerona, formerly of Beech Run, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at The Rockin Chair Residential Care at Lerona, following a long illness. Born March 31, 1929, in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Darcy and Lilly Emiline McKinney Hatcher. Mrs. Reed had lived all her life in Summers County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hinton, and was a retired X-ray technician at the Old Hinton Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, K. K. Reed. She is survived by two sons, Robert Reed and his wife, Christina, of Atlanta, Ga., and Kenneth Reed of Bardstown, Ky., one granddaughter, Faith Reed of Atlanta, Ga., two brothers; Ira Damon Reed and wife, Jessie, of Shepherdsville, Ky., and Ivan Hatcher; two sisters, Frances Stamper and Rita Marion of Mt. Washington, Ky. Joint funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday for Willa and her husband, who was cremated following his death in 2006, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Mr. Reeds' cremains will be interred in the family plot at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton and Mrs. Reed will be buried at the Hatcher Cemetery near Ellison in her family Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
