Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, August 18, 2008 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Ricky Rider will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Saturday, August 16, 2008 and Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the funeral home. Mrs. Blackwell was born January 9, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William Jasper Wilson and Willie Jane London Wilson. She came to the Gainesville area in the early 1950's and worked in the poultry industry until retirement from Dutch Quality Foods. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Eugene Blackwell, her son, Bobby Eugene Blackwell, Jr., her brother, Billy Wilson, and her sister, Betty Lockeby. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta & Dwight Smith, Cleveland; son, Johnny Blackwell, Flowery Branch; daughter-in-law, Lorie Blackwell, Oakwood; her dog, Penny Lou Blackwell; grandchildren, Maranda & Jason Hatcher, Keith & Tonya Wilson, Jonathan Blackwell, Zack & Mikayla Blackwell and Debra Smith; sisters & brothers-in-laws, Regina & Rigo Rios, Gainesville, Glenna & Glen Jones, Mt. City, brother, Reggie Rider, Gainesville; brother & sister-in-law, Ricky & Sherry Rider, Gillsville; brother-in-law, Harold Lockeby, Murrayville; 5 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madysen and Makenna Hatcher, Kaden Wilson and Jennifer Blackwell; and mother-in-law, Grace Jones Blackwell.
