Margie Virginia Hatcher, 89, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born Sept. 24, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Della Stump. Margie loved flowers and loved to garden. She was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude D. Hatcher; brothers, Charles Stump, Page Stump and Riley Stump; and sisters, Leer Miller and Cora McKinney. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Doug Hatcher and wife, Marsha, of Beckley; three daughters, Helen Curtis and husband, James, of Elizabethton, Tenn., Rosalie Kuhn and husband, Charles, of Fairdale and Virginia Willard and husband, James "Pete," of Stafford, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Ken Overdorff and Minister Rick Abshir officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
