She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Sullivan County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Charles and Virgie Ford Gross. She worked for Big Jack Manufacturing and was a member of Sinking Springs United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Charles Carroll. Survivors include daughter, Teresa Carroll Hatcher and husband Charles Walter Hatcher III; grandchildren, Megan Nicole Hatcher of Johnson City, Tenn., and Tamara Brooke Hatcher of Bristol Tennessee; and sister, Juanita Wilson and husband Ray. Graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Jack Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home. The family sends a special appreciation to Judy Rutter for her excellent care given to the Carrolls.
