Hatchers, I am brand new to researching NC genealogy records. Has anyone done any Hatcher research in NC regarding land records? I am looking for an online search database and as of yet have not found one with an online search link. Would welcome being pointed in a direction for this kind of research if it exists. I can't get into their site this morning to point you to the research request form. They also have a catalog where you can select the files/films where you might find your people. Research for NC residents is free, but not for non-residents. I worked with several of our NC Hatchers who submitted requests for me, costing me only their copying/postage costs when records were actually found. I'm pretty sure that if you've selected a film that's indexed, they are more willing to provide any record on that film regarding your surname. But it is also best to specify a specific person and ask if they would also include others of that surname, if found. Are their any of our NC residents who would be willing to work with Sue? Nel
