Hi Nel, Thanks for asking for help with research on my behalf. My George Perkins is believed to be in NC as early as 1810 ( could be earlier) where his first son John W (Wesley?) is born per 1850 census. The only Geroge Perkins I find in the 1810 census in NC is in Richmond county. I dont know if that George is mine. There is no George Perkins in NC in 1820 census. Their daughter Nancy is thought to be born about 1816/7 in AL prior to its statehood, according to 1850 census. Other Perkins in Richmond county are Jacob and John, dont know if they are related, my George is unconnected as of yet. They had 8 known children. I was thinking if I could find any land records for George in NC around 1810, perhaps around Richmond county, I might be able to see if there were other Perkins with land records in the same area at the same time. Georges wife is Elizabeth b. about 1792/3 in NC, whose maiden name is still unknown. George and Elizabeth are my brick wall. Would love to connect them to somebody. I am thinking land patents would probably be my best starting point with finding other early 19th century Perkins records. Thanks for any and all help. Thanks for any help and direction where to research. Sue
