    3. Nell, How did you connect Guy G Hatcher to Richard Johnson Hatcher Jr. and wife Geraldine Lily Sanders? Looking at the 1910 Navarro co Tx.census where Guy is enumerated in the household of Calvin Scroggins it indicates that Guy' parents are from South Carolina and Mississippi. Richard Johnson Hatcher Jr. and Lily were from Alabama . We know by the census that Richard and Geraldine had at least 4 children Judson, John Benjamin, Mary and Charles. Judson and John Benjamin disappear after 1880. The 1900 census has Mary and Charles residing at home,1910 census, Geraldine says she has two children and two living and shows Mary and Charles still at home. In 1910 they are residing in Navarro Co. HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D Greenwood Lynn, You're only looking at one of Guy's censi. He had 4 listed and in 2 of them, he gives his parents' bp as AL. Census info where someone is living with, boarding, or a lodger can be the least reliable since it's probably more likely the HOH or landlord who is giving the info. But the key was Guy's military record where he states his pob was FreestoneCo. And there would be no reason to assume he would be lieing about where he was born. Going to the 1880 Freestone census shows only one family - Richard and Geraldine. Guy's birth in 1882 fits right in with the normal gap between kids. Geraldine's 1910 census is obviously wrong when she states she had only 2 kids. It appears she claimed only those 2 kids who were still living at home. Note also that Richard died in NavarroCo and even though we can't find this family in the 1900 census, we DO find Guy in 1900 NavarroCo. Nel
