    2. The Bee (Danville, Virginia) > 1962 > March > ILLNESS IS FATAL TO MRS HATCHER Mrs Nettie Gilbert Hatcher of 412 Farrar St., died in Memorial Hospital yesterday morning at 4:35 o’ clock. Her death was unexpected, however she had been in declining health for the past several years and entered the hospital a short time before her death occurred. Mrs Hatcher, a native of Henry County, was born May 27, 1891, a daughter of the late William Gilbert and Mrs Henrietta Law Gilbert. She had resided in Danville since 1940 and was of the Methodist faith. Until her retirement in 1954 she was employed in the No2 Weave Room of the Riverside Division of the Dan River Mills. Her husband, Sanders Lee Hatcher, died Oct 18 1941. She is survived by seven daughters: Mrs H D Minter, Mrs Paul Hicks, Mrs Jesse Dewberry, Mrs Minnie Dewberry, and Mis Joan Hatcher, all of Danville. Mrs Henry Kruger of Beaumont, Texas, and Mrs Charles Amos of Greensboro, N. C. and two sons: Richard Hatcher and Harold Hatcher, both of Danville. She also leaves three sisters: mrs Annie Carter of Martinsville, Rt 1, Mrs Kate Wingfield of Ridgeway, and Mrs Ora Woodall of Draper, N. C.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Swicegood Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev.
