HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D Greenwood Cuzins, I have a list I pulled off the SC State Archives site that I believe requires a personal visit to the Archives to read microfilm. Here is an example.... Register of Mesne Conveyances L 36143 Newberry County (S.C.). Register of Mesne Conveyances. Abstracts of conveyance books 1785-1805 8.00 volumes L 36001 Newberry County (S.C.). Register of Mesne Conveyances. Conveyance books 1785-1921, 1941 92.00 microfilm reels, 0.01 microfilm reel, and 2.00 volumes Never sure what I'm talking about when I look at this "stuff", but I think the first one requires checking 8 books, no film involved. The 2nd one....hmmm! The 2 volumes may be an index leading to 1 of the 92 films? Do we have anyone with reasonable access to the Archives and who is willing to dig thru a bunch of books and films? Expenses will be paid by the Assn. The Archives is located in Columbia. Please let me know if you're interested. Nel
