Nel..... I am hooked up to the Internet thru ATT Yahoo DSL. My email is _delongr-k@sbc.net_ (mailto:delongr-k@sbc.net) . I subscribe (free-now) to AOL. My email is _rdbikerbob2@aol.com_ (mailto:rdbikerbob2@aol.com) . When I am logged on to AOL I use their browser to search the Internet. That is the only way I can search the Hatcher site NOW. I used to be able to go straight to Internet Explorer and search the site. Now I cannot. BB **************AOL Search: Your one stop for directions, recipes and all other Holiday needs. Search Now. HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D Greenwood This is bizarre, BB. The TNG software has not been altered in any way. My server claims it's not their problem. They claim they've made no changes to my particular server. Yet suddenly on Monday evening our site is out of commission. Again, I'm far from an expert, but I see no way this could have anything to do with our software but if our server screwed up somehow, it would seem many other sites with a search engine on their site and residing on that same server would be experiencing the same problems. That, of course, is probably not something my server would be willing to admit. Is there some way our site and only our site could have been hacked or compromised in some way? Any techies in our bunch with any thoughts on this?? Nel
Nel, I also got no search results using my Mozilla browser, but loaded AOL's browser and could search from there with a comforting list of results. I know of other sites that I use that seem to run better with one browser or another - it's not that unusual, I think. I sure hope it gets fixed soon! It won't let me search either and I don't have AOL. I'm sure there is someone out there that can get'er done for us none computer folks! Perhaps knowing that is at least part of the issue, tho, can help figure out the "fix." Hopefully some of out more technical (I won't say more geeky) members can shed some insight. I agree with the "running better" but our site simply crashed into a wall after running (for better or worse :-) quite well for a year and not denying access to anyone except AOLers.
