Dear fellow Hatcher researchers (and especially the Barnett Hatcher connection) On Tuesday I found myself coming into Brownsville (Edmonson Co.) KY. I had wanted to find the Old Brownsville Cemetery because I knew that Benjamin and Jane (Davis) Hatcher were buried there. I stopped at the Patton Funeral Home and ask the owner's daughter, and she pointed to it just a few yards up a hill behind the Funeral Home. She then warned me to watch out for the copper head snakes that could be crawling around the cemetery because of its close proximity to Mammoth Cave Nat'l Park. Believe me, I watched carefully and thankfully didn't see any. I was able to located the old tombstones of Benjamin Hatcher and his wife, Jane who was buried beside him just a few feet away. I also came across a child buried there named Millie A. E. Hatcher (Aug 20 1860 - Feb 14 1864). I am not real sure who this child could be. One would almost have to assume she may have belonged to Benjamin & Jane. She was buried several feet away from their graves. It is even possible that she could have been a granddaughter due to her being born in 1860 and Benj & Jane were married in 1825 and the last child I had for them was born in 1845. I have downloaded and made a new listing for the Old Brownsville Cemetery on Find A Grave's Website. I have also included pictures. As soon as they are approved, they will be available for viewing. Do a cemetery lookup at http://www.findagrave.com It is listed as Old Brownsville Cemetery in Edmonson County Ky. Wayne Hatcher
