Nel: I sure don't know how to explain it, but maybe this will help: http://www.howstuffworks.com/ram.htm. I thought I understood how RAM worked but I thought it applied to the physical computer itself, not a particular website. But the fact that we're exceeding our RAM allotment (and thanks to Carroll for bringing it up) is an issue of much concern to me. I do not know how much we've been "allotted." I cannot find anything on my DH Account screen that discusses RAM or an allotment. I do not know exactly "what" fills up our RAM bucket. I do not know if it's been filling up slowly and normally over the past year and just naturally hit it's limit OR if it started to fill up suddenly and rapidly with "something" whose source and cause are unknown to me. Is it caused by something I am or am not doing with the TNG software? In short, when we move to another server, what is to prevent this same thing from happening again? It is the WHY that concerns me. Carroll suggested getting more RAM but with DH (who suggested this), that means going to a private server at BIG $$/month and still doesn't tell me whether I'm experiencing a "normal" situation or a freaky situation that will happen again. Anyone know how to explain the RAM situation and what goes in there?
