For discussion, I still think the Robert who was supposedly Mj. John's father has to be accounted for? That mystery has never been revealed..... Can anyone prove / disprove who Robert was/ was not? I don't think we have ever seen any proof that Robert was indeed Mj. John's father, so its plausible Mj. John could be the son of some other Hatcher? Thoughts anyone???? William W. (I have these images if anyone wants copies). 1) Dempsey bn c1797 was s/o Tom Jr/Martha, s/o Tom Sr/Wilmoth. 2) Demp md Charity Goodwin, died in ShelbyCo, AL. 3) Demp is now known to have been in BibbCo, GA among neighbors very close to John/Liz Tharp. Others of the Tharp family were also purchasers. Now for the grand theory of the day..... 1) Tom/Wilmoth md around 1757. Maj John was born 1757. Is Maj John the eldest s/o Tom/Wilmoth? Is Maj John the older bro of Tom Jr/Martha? 2) Liz Hatcher Tharp was born c1793, a match to an unnamed dau of Tom Jr. Is Liz the d/o Tom/Martha, sis of Demp, and NIECE of Maj John? I do not know (yet) where John Tharp's parents came from. Do any of you have info on the Tharps? Can anyone shoot me down with good evidence if there are holes in this possibility?
