Born at Rose Blanche he was the son of the late Amelia and John Hatcher. Gus was also predeceased by his brothers: Henry, John (Florence), Joe (Nina), Isreal, Wilson, Tom, Charles and sisters: Hannah, Georgina and Dora. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Beatrice of 61 years of marriage, sons: Israel (Mildred) of Rose Blanche Augustus of Glace Bay, NS, grandchildren: Barry (Chrystal) of Halifax, Theresa (Albert) Cox of Halifax, Damien (Sherry) of Glace Bay, NS and Hannah of Glace Bay, NS, great-grandchildren: Michaela and Michael, sisters-in-law: Myrtle Hatcher, Annabelle Hatcher, Lillian Hatcher all of Rose Blanche, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation took place at St. Michael's and All Angels Church, Rose Blanche on Friday and Saturday. Funeral services took place on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels Church officiate! d by Rev. Hugh Vallis. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Funeral arrangements in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300.
