We simply hibernate :-) It was supposed to be 7-14 inches for us but looks like we'll get thru it with about 6 inches. You are right about the "no credit" situation. But it's also true that there are only a few "original" copiers with everyone else copying from him/her. And it's often impossible to know who was "first." When you know that seasoned and experienced researchers do not copy whole pages of information from someone else's file, including personal notes, without giving proper credit, you also know all of these copiers are amateurs with limited or no knowledge of copyright issues. While documents or any public record are NOT copyrightable and can certainly be "copied" no matter where you find them, personal writings ARE protected. I have also seen a few egregious examples of a "copier" not only copying my words but interspersing his/her own words into the mix, leaving the clear impression with the viewer that this entire scenario was researched solely by the "copier." But it's also a waste of time and effort to chase after these guys. As you point out, our presence on Google is large and in the long run our site will be found. And once that happens, the "copiers" are left in the dust :-) Sooo......back to the tombstones as I watch the snow fall....and fall! Nel
