HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "One of the tragedies of life is the murder of a beautiful theory by a brutal gang of facts" - La Rochefoucauld Martha, The photos I use from FaG are always sourced to the site but not to the individual who took the picture. If someone like Tim Hites notifies me [giving me permission, so to speak] that he's uploaded more pics, I list him as the "contributor" and enter his FaG URL as the owner/source. Except in rare cases, I've never asked permission to use a photo that has been placed on a public site but always just give credit to the owner, if known, or the site. This, I believe, falls under the "fair use" part of the copyright law in that small pieces of data from a published work can be used by others without permission but with the data sourced to the owner. So I believe Winnette is correct and that the only way one might get into serious trouble over copyright issues is if an individual attempted to sell a large collection of data/pics from a site without getting permission.
