Can anyone tell me why the children of Charles W. Hatcher are living with the Robert Wilson family in Pope County AR in 1850? I see on the Hatcher family site and on the census that it appears their Mother died 1843-49, and that the family is spread out in different households in 1850. Then back together again in 1860 (Perry County), after Charles W. married to wife Virginia Davis. Surely there is some family relationship between the Wilsons (Robert Wilson born c1789 NC and Jane ___ Wilson born c 1795 TN, family came to ARK 1837 or so) and Charles W. Hatcher? Are they the parents of his first wife, and so the children's grandparents? Perhaps Robert Wilson's wife Jane ___ is an older sister of Charles Hatcher? Mere speculation, am hoping someone researching this family can help. Perry County to Pope County looks like quite a ways to send a 9 year old and an 8 year old, plus it involved a trip across the Arkansas River. Just seems like there must have been some good reason to send them there. Thanks, Cynthia Benua
