Nel, Don't know about James Lace Hatcher but I saw yesterday where Howard Jackson Gibson and Sarah Catherine Hatcher's children are listed as born after 1860 on the Hatcher website. The 1880 Federal Census has the age of these children. It would make Mary Howard b. Abt 1868, Kate, 1872, Maud 1873 and Gourley 1875. What is your personal e-mail address again?
