Nel, Thanks for thinking of my wild and raucous band of Indian Territory/Oklahoma Hatchers. Whether shooting up a cafe, a circus, or a picnic, the Hatchers did their part (usually while drunk)!  However, these are local events, and only publicized or memorialized on the anniversary dates by the newspaper. My daughter happens to be a Television producer for PBS.  She writes and produces human interest stories for the St. Louis PBS TV station.  She just signed a contract for a national PBS documentary that will take her crew a year to film and produce (cannot reveal the subject matter).  Funding such ventures takes BIG bucks.  They are pitched to the network, and if felt that the concept will be appreciated by a national audience, an established charitable trust is asked to provide seed money.  Then all the affiliate stations must contribute, for the privilege of bringing it to their local audience. Would the 'History of the Hatchers' draw national and local funding?  Doubt it. HATCHER is not among the top 100 most popular surnames, which means we represent LESS THAN 0.08% of the US population. While I seem to have a knack for coming up with rather wild and grandiose ideas, the one thing I usually fail to recognize, out of utter ignorance most of the time, is the amount of time it would take for whoever is leading the charge. I don't have the time anymore to get heavily involved or be in charge of what now sounds like a major project just to get turned down. And god help us if we didn't :-) Somebody whop me up side the head, get me pointed in the right direction and maybe.........I can finish Tim Hite's stuff......that's been sitting here for a month. As I said earlier, if Beth and/or Julia [or anyone else] wants to work on some sort of PR project, I would work with them as needed. But I can't take the lead. And your guns are hidden under my bed.
