You sound like me (I really would rather forget birthdays). My wife is from Greece and they don't celebrate birthdays - they celebrate name days. Every child is named after a saint and by celebrating name days noone has to tell their age. Eva Allene Cook was born June 7, 1917, in Verdon, Neb. She was a beautician, seamstress, homemaker, dry cleaner and drapery shop owner, apartment manager and Avon district manager. She lived in several states, including California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington. She moved to Portland in 1998. In the 1930s, she married Alfred Filatreau; they divorced. She later married Lew Donaldson; he died earlier. In the late 1980s, she married Loren Hatcher; he died in 1997. Survivors include her daughters, Jill A. Filatreau Bills and Sandra K. Filatreau Paynter; sisters, Jane Cook Herbster and Ann Cook Hahn; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her daughter Susan M. Filatreau Robinson died in 2006. Arrangements by Omega. HATCHER - John Hatcher was a soldier in the Rev. war, and afterward served 21 years in the legislature of VA. He married NANCY GENTRY, of Cumberland Co., VA., and they had 16 children, of whom the following lived to be grown: Nancy, Susan, Polly, Joseph, Samuel, John, Elizabeth, Martha, Henry and Frederick. John and Henry came to St. Charles Co in 1837. John had previously married a MISS FLIPPIN, and after remaining in St. Charles Co. a short time, he returned to VA. Henry married SUSAN A SPEARES, daughter of JOHN SPEARES AND MARGARET BATES. They had 12 children: Ann M., Caroline, Charlotte V., Frederick, Martha, Mary E., Sally M., Permelia, Worthy, John H., Henrietta and Samuel. Ann M. married STROTHER JOHNSON. Caroline married HON. BARTON BATES, son of HON. EDWARD BATES. Charlotte V. married DANIEL H. BROWN. Frederick never married. Martha died in childhood. Mary E. married GEORGE W. JACKSON. Sally M. married PEYTON A. BROWN. Permelia married WILLIAM E. CHANEYWORTH. Worthy died when she was a young lady. John H. married CAROLINE HARRIS. Henrietta and Samuel are unmarried. View/Sign Guest Book JOSEPH H. HATCHER, 38, passed away on August 1, 2008. He was born November 30, 1969 in Oklahoma City, Ok. Joe worked for T3 Energy as a draftsman and was an active member of 2nd Baptist Church at the Woodway Campus where he was a part of Crash singles Sunday school class. Joe also served in the United States Army Reserve. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Hatcher. Joe is survived by his father, Tim Hatcher and wife Shirley "Mom" Hatcher; brother, Kurt Ebaugh; sister, Heike Mills; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews from Oklahoma. Joe was always helping somebody and touched many lives with his countless hours of volunteer work with many charities including DePelchin Children's Center and Houston Food Bank. He will always be remembered as a true servant of the Lord. A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 12:30 PM in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation begins for friends and family at 10:00 AM. Internment to follow at M! emorial Oaks Funeral Cemetery.
