Hi Jackie, We got your request, through Find-A-Grave, to correct the burial place for these two folks. We also saw the obit for Agnes on the Hatcher List wherein you state, in the transcriber's note, that Agnes is buried in Lenora South Cemetery, Lenora, Norton County, Kansas. The information on Find-A-Grave is correct as presented. We (Darleen & I) took the picture of the tombstones at the South Star Cemetery. We have never taken a picture in the Lenora South Cemetery, or even visited it. I believe a telephone call to the Sexton of the Lenora South Cemetery will show that Clifford and Agnes are NOT buried there. Or, take a drive down the Zohner/Penokee Road to the South Star Cemetery and verify that Clifford and Agnes' stone are there as shown on our Find-A-Grave submission. If you do either, then you can take whatever action you deem appropriate toward the entries on Rootsweb URL http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hatcher/1935/mb.ashx Best Regards, John Chipman.

HATCHER website: http://hatcherfamilyassn.com HALL DNA project: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nhatcher/hall/HDNAtest.htm "If you can't stand the skeletons, stay out of the closet" - Val D Greenwood where I've been hiding, right? Been working hard on two projects........ First, we now have a NEW DNA match to our Quaker/Dorset Hatchers. And his family is from Newfoundland!! I've now got this family added to the Quaker file, all 375 of them. One point of interest is that this family also has a connection to the Kendle/Kendall family who have early connections to our MN Hatchers from Dorset. Is that a clue?? I hope so! I've posted msgs to the Newfoundland Genforum board and also our Hatcher board explaining what we've got and asking for more testers. Any of you who would like to track down some of the male Hatchers researching the Newfies, begging them to test.......you have my blessing!! Go fer it :-) Also! I'm working hard on TX Death certs and am filling in a tremendous amount of new data. I'm on page 15 of 43, 10 to a page....so still a long way to go. In addition to the usual data - exact birth/death dates, places and burial info - I'm filling in a large number of maiden names for wives/mothers AND if the wife also died in TX (quite a few did so), I'm also picking up the names of their parents. Many of those I'm finding came out of KY and TN which is where many are last found on our file. Finding them in TX will hopefully open up some new paths of research for some of you. If any of you have a KY-TN brick wall, give me a holler and I'll see if they're in TX...... Cheers, Nel
Don't know about Hatcher Lane, will have to look up address. He and wife, Marietta, had 3 daughters: Deanna, Jody and Cheryl. Back in the day ( late 60's) when Houston hadn't swallowed everything down I45, Cheryl had a GTO with 4 in the floor. At family reunion time, Uncle harry would take the guy cuzins out in the goat for rides up and down 45-average speed 100 or more. I still like speed.

Hi Jimmy, I am not related to your uncle Harry Hatcher of Friendswood that I know of, but I did have the pleasure of meeting him many years ago and always get a kick out of driving by Hatcher Lane, I think it was named after him since he was the only resident on that short stretch of street, just off Friendswood Drive. Hi Julia, You are not far from me. It's good to live where they name a street Hatcher. I'm sorry to learn of a displaced Hatcher and I hope you can live in Galveston again soon. I don't know if you found anyone for the UK connection or not, but since my wife is from England and interested in doing some research she might be interested in getting one. [Funny, I think that Wm. came from the same area that she did...] She also said that most of the people in the UK who get the most done are the ones who go to the different churches, etc. and look up personally what they need. They had to do that when they were researching the Beaufort, [also Beaufoy, Beaufeau, Beaufeu etal]. They came over from France sometime around who? uh Norman the Conqueror or someone like that. She isn't here or I would ask her. Funny enough on her father's side whose name was Irven descended from the royal family. His grandfather was adopted and got the name because he was dropped at an orphanage by the river of the same name. They tried with an attorney to get his records and found that they were sealed for 100 years. Even after that they have not been successful. the only ones, normally, whose records are like this or for the royals. That one will be a dead end I am sure for awhile unless someone knows something that we don't?? Sincerely, Tony
Someone in the area code of Sask (306) called a Robert Hatcher in CA this weekend asking about a connection to a Mary Smith. This Robert is part of my Quaker line and since I've done research of them, Robert's mother referred the inquiry to me. She thought the caller was "Jim", but wasn't sure. If the caller is on the list, please contact me via email and I'll see if I can answer your questions.
