Nel, Her maiden name was Walker. She was the daughter of John Jack Walker and Sabra Clements. I don't know which Walker she married but I'm sure it was a cousin. It's a puzzle for sure but I love a puzzle! I am looking for the family of a Dareus Hatcher b. 1899 in Minnesota to a Benjamin Hatcher. Dareus lived in the Los Angeles area and married Mary Anna Schmidt of Victoria, MN. They had 2 children: Robert (Bobby) born in 1930 and Marlene, born in 1931. The Hatchers operated a hardware store in Bell Gardens, CA. I need help in finding the descendants of Dareus. Jim Stangel
Nel, I was thinking the same thing. Its what the 1900 Polk County Census says but they give his age as 27. So yes it was the census taker's mistake. Its supposed to say 1873!!!! On the same census it lists Sabra J. Walker as John Hatchers aunt. I'm related to her and I would love to know who these Hatchers are! Hi Everyone! I'm looking for anyone who might be researching John Hatcher born about 1883 in Florida. His wife's name is Mary and they had a son named Arthur born 1897. Thank you for your help! Beth

I can't begin to tell you how much Roy meant to me and how sad this makes me feel. He was one of the first Hatchers I found many years ago and can only be considered a founding member of this group. For those who don't know him, his picture is at the top of our homepage. Nel ------------------- I am sorry to have to notify you that Daddy (Roy S. Nel, I have the same record of George & Fanny's marriage. The death record is the one that I assume to be Fanny's. The age that is listed for Fanny on the death record didn't exactly correlate with some information that my brother-in-law had, but I do believe that it is hers. Following is the information about George's birth that my sister and brother-in-law found when that were in England in 1996. Marnhull [Dorset, England]. August 18, 1799 was baptized GEORGE KENDELL, son of Geo. Kendell and Dorothy, his wife. Born 15 of ye above month and year. Gssps. George and Martha Curtis of Foorside. by John Stanley. Marnhull Register, page 19. Dorset County Records Office., Dorchester, England. I do see the same record on the web site you listed. Do the MN Hatchers have any information of the family in England? Can there be any connection with either Fanny or George? George seems to have had two sisters and two brothers. One of each died in infancy and the other two also came to the Wisconsin. His sister, Fannie came with George and his brother, Nicholas came over before his brother and is listed in the 1850 census. The mention of Dorset, Hatcher and Kendall brings up my continuing search for information on Fanny Hatcher. The Fanny Hatcher that I'm trying to find was born about 1802 in Dorset. Her death was possibly on Jan 30, 1843 in Marnhull, Dorset. She married George W. Kendell/Kendall on Nov 25, 1824 in Marnhull. After Fanny's death, George came with his children to Wisconsin in about 1852. Where in Dorset did the Minnesota Hatchers originate? When did they come over? My name is Jim Stangel. I am connected to a Hatcher family that lived in California and I am trying to find information on them and possibly locate any that are still living or their descendants. Darius R Hatcher (b. 1899) from MN married Mary Anna Schmidt (b. 1894) from MN. They were married in California. They had two children: 1.Robert Hatcher b. 1930 2. Marlene Hatcher b. 1931 The Hatchers operated a hardward store in Bell Gardens for a number of years. I believe that Marlene is still alive. I would dearly love to find her. Can anyone help me?
