    3. Hi Evelyn, that query was from DAVE in St. Louis, asking in which Loveland you are living?  I was photographing the Loveland ski area on Monday, a day before their 8" snow hit....and I didn't see you.   Of course, NOW, I find out you are near Ft. Collins! We simply hibernate :-) It was supposed to be 7-14 inches for us but looks like we'll get thru it with about 6 inches. You are right about the "no credit" situation. But it's also true that there are only a few "original" copiers with everyone else copying from him/her. And it's often impossible to know who was "first." When you know that seasoned and experienced researchers do not copy whole pages of information from someone else's file, including personal notes, without giving proper credit, you also know all of these copiers are amateurs with limited or no knowledge of copyright issues. While documents or any public record are NOT copyrightable and can certainly be "copied" no matter where you find them, personal writings ARE protected. I have also seen a few egregious examples of a "copier" not only copying my words but interspersing his/her own words into the mix, leaving the clear impression with the viewer that this entire scenario was researched solely by the "copier." But it's also a waste of time and effort to chase after these guys. As you point out, our presence on Google is large and in the long run our site will be found. And once that happens, the "copiers" are left in the dust :-) Sooo......back to the tombstones as I watch the snow fall....and fall! Nel

    3. Good morning, Get you snowshoes on, it is coming your way.  We have had 16.5 inches thus far in Loveland and it is still snowing lightly. Just went on Google for "Hatcher".  I was amazed at all the different sites listed for it and did notice some of it was pay, the crests for sale, various families genealogy and much that read like it came from your Hatcher site and I didn't see any credits to you .  I am sure that it is possible to find other info from various sites, but I doubt that it is possible to do so without it being rather costly.  As much time, effort, money and etc. that you have put into this wonderful HATCHER site with much help with others, I think it appalling   for others to copy and not give credit. Have a good snow day...............Evelyn

    1. [HATCHER] More cemetery confusion...
    2. Martha Lamkin
    3. Nel: Another example of cemetery confusion: My paternal grandmother's family is buried in a family graveyard on the THOMPSON family homestead. This THOMPSON Family Cemetery contains burials from 1912 to 1988, and is referred to by that name in all legal documents, courthouse records, etc. during that time period. An older section of the same cemetery contains burials from 1834 to 1892, during which time the cemetery was called the BRUMMAL-PENICK Cemetery, and legal documents, etc., during that time period referred to it by that name. Yet another, still older, section, contains a number of unmarked graves plus two legible tombstones, with dates from 1828 to 1865, and the graveyard was called the MOTLEY Family Graveyard during those years and in documents of that time period. I was well along into my research before I did a reading of the cemetery, took photos, and put the puzzle pieces together. The name of the same cemetery had simply changed according to the ownership of the land at the time and the surnames of family members being buried in it at that time. It may be that fag simply didn't have all the bugs worked out or a mechanism in place to do back then what they can do today. You need only look at where we are today compared to 2 years ago. But I'm wishing you a 100 pounds of luck getting pics from the DallasCo Hatcher cem based on its location and the description Ala Bob gave a few years ago.
