    3. Tim, If you look at the following web site: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSsr=121&GScid=1613641& You'll see that there are four Hatchers listed as being buried in Solon Cemetery, Middleburg, Loudoun County, Virginia. There are also three Corum surnames listed as being buried there. The SSDI has Wilmer Hatcher as being born 15 Apr 1909 and dying Nov 1976. This conflicts with the birth year of 1908 given on the Find-A-Grave page, but there is no image of the gravestone available. The SSDI also lists his last residence as Martinsburg, Berkeley, WV. I wasn't able to find this Wilmer Hatcher at hatcherfamilyassn.com either. Hope this helps a little. J. 3. Just came across this, in Greg Vanover's The Vanover Family, p 128 -- can't imagine it will be of use to anyone, but thought I should pass it along: "Missouri Swindall [daughter of Ruth Vanover and James Swindall of Dickenson County, Virginia], born 1879 in Wise County, Virginia; went to the Pikeville, Kentucky, with her boyfriend who was a hatcher from Kentucky.  He returned to Virginia and told her family while he walked the floor and cried that Missouri had died and he had buried her."

    1. [HATCHER] Immigration lookup help from Germany to the US in 1820s/1830s
    2. Sue
    3. Friends, Wondering if I can impose about this group one more time for a lookup? This is Non Hatcher research, I want to be direct about that. I am hoping someone in the group has experience or access to immigration records that list what I am looking for. Consider it that needle in a haystack. I have learned I am directly connected to a family I cant seem to find much of anywhere in the states once they arrived here from Germany. The surname is uncommon, Cavaline. Variations I have seen are Caveline and Caroline for starters. What I am most interested is finding this family along with cousins on a ships manifest. According to family letters they traveled together on their maiden voyage to the US. I think they initially landed in MD, but some branches moved on to Cincinnati, OH some to Louisville, KY and others to Mobile, AL. Here are the names I know: Cavaline children: John and Nickolas. Born in Germany, supposedly in the 1820s, Nick about 1828. Don't know if John is older or younger. They traveled with parents who both died of cholera on the way over. I don't have names for the parents or possible other siblings. Also traveling with Mr. Frank ( I don't have a first name as of yet), no details about where born and year of birth Mrs. Margaret Frank, born in Germany about 1800 John Goodbrad ( son of above Margaret from prior marriage) Born in Germany about 1828/29. They also may have been traveling with a family named Fuller, but that is just a guess. Mr. Cavaline, Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Fuller were all Cavaline siblings. I have been researching this family for 10 years, I assumed I would never learn the maiden name of Mrs. Margaret Frank in my lifetime. Just goes to show, never give up. If anyone has access to any database that lists immigrant ships in the late 1820/early 1830s I am all ears. I have tried every possible combination on Ancestry.com ( library edition) to no avail. I have some vague recollection of stumbling across these names at one point in time but didn't know they were related so dismissed it and didn't bookmark the website. Lesson learned!! Since I don't know what website I found this I am at a stand still. You can contact me via [email protected] otherwise I cant wait for the digest to arrive to see if I receive any replies. I will be eternally grateful to anyone who finds anything. Thanks, Sue
