The 1900 census for Henry and Almeda has never been added so how can there be a discrepancy on it? Nel
Nel, I know you are busy but there is a discrepancy on the Hatcher website and the 1900 Federal census for the children of Alameda Hatcher (daughter of Eli and Sarah Rachel Cavender) and Henry W Shine. You might take a look at it when you have time. Shirley
I don't recall seeing this on the list, however, its been on some of the other mailing list. All people should see this proposal. http://blog. capecodgensoc. org/2010/ 02/save-2010- census-no- images-to- be.html

I do know about 8 yrs back... when I was there..that one stone was missing that was there when I was a child. I know that absolutely because there were 2 stones exactly alike, they were lower to the ground...about 6" thick... and those 2 stones were the ones my sister and I used to "sit on". We'd sneak off up to that cemetary... and would sit on those 2 stones... pretending they were "horses" My father used to always watch WAgon Train, and all those cowboy type shows, We re-enacted them the next day. There were more than 2 infants burired there too. We used to enter the cemetary from the "left side"... Now you enter from what we called the back side of it yrs ago. It was on the back side that there were quite a few infant stones. Being a child then, I don't recall exactly how many, but there were at least 7 or 8 of them. I remember my mother telling me that they were stones for babies... and her telling me that back in "those days" alot of babies didn't make it. This would have been around 57-58 or so... Actually by the time I was 5 I was sneaking off to play up there. lol Also many yrs ago, there were a number of wild "lady slippers" that grew wild in that wooded area... There was like a patch of them back just behind where the babies were buried. We stayed out of that spot were the babies were... even as a child...it just didn't seem right... Back then the cemetary was not well kept and we had to crawl up a little hill... thru briars to get into it. I can't even find a hint of a "hill now" Of course when I was small, it probably seemed larger. betty Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The cemetery is located at the end of MELBA ST> It's a short street, located right off of Jefferson Davis Highway. It is actually in Chesterfield County, But the mailing address there is Richmond. So when you look up Melba St. put in Richmond, Va. I usually use Zillow.com to see ariel views of things. I think it's better than google. Once you pull that up, you will see that Melba is a short street and you can see somewhat of a dirt road at the end... that sort of goes off to the left. The cemetery is right there. Just in the edge of the woods... on the left side of the road... You can see it. It's not a well traveled road.. not much up behind there... few houses..you can just stop and park on the road and walk on in. Last time I was there, It had been cleaned out right nice...had little post and a heavy chain around it... not to keep people out...just a decorative thing... If you want to write to me at... [email protected] and keep in touch... I might be able to even meet you if I know ahead of time and show you where it is. I no longer live in Chester area, but go there often, (family) and tell you more about how I know this place. betty Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The dates and location are quite possible for Francis Jackson of Prince Wm. If so, his second wife's (Sally's, as you mentioned as a possibility) maiden name would have been Glasscock, mother of Francis's younger children born in the 1760s. Any connection to the John Glassford Co. and Successors, Records 1753-1844 that you mention that Francis Jackson purchased from? I dunno about the Library. Good idea though. Also, did you have somebody contacting Teri's agent, if not specifically about the "Who do you think..." program, then asking if Teri would be interested in being included if we ever get any PR? I think that sounds great! We could all start net surfing, see what we find, send it to you, and in like a month's time or so we could do the group vetting. It would be a great way to pool our resources and time since each state, region, city, etc. often has its own geney/ historical magazines, programs and the like.
