    3. About the year 1761, James Harvie, with his two sons, James & Archibald, and his daughter,Marion, or Margaret, or both, and his nephew John arrived in Newport, Hants County, from the state of Rhode island, to which state they had emigrated from the town of Dairy in the shre of Ayr, Scotland. James (son of the elder James) married Alice Wilcox, and left a family of five sons, Benjamin, James, Stephen, John and Archibald. James married Mary A Ernest and left three sons, George, Monson and Arthur Benjamin. George (Big George of Halifax) had two sons, George, who lived in Windsor, and Newton. Monson married Rose Brown from Tennycape, and left three sons, Henry, George and James. Henry married Minnie McIntosh and had two sons, Percy and Lawrence. Percy married Dolly McKenny. Lawrence married Myrtle Langer. George never married. James married Georgina Spratt and had two sons, Arthur and Elmer. Arthur Benjamin married Isanna Page and had one son, Percy. His second wife was Elizabeth Barnard. She left one son Emory. Percy married Isabella Hart. John ,married Nancy Dow, and they had Reuben, David, and Nathan. Thomas Arch married Margaret Ettinger, and had Leonard, Arthur, Prescott, and Sylvanus. Leonard had two sons, Prescott and Harry. ...There seems to be a gap here (I think). James (Summerville) married Martha (daughter of John & Experience Powers Harvie), and left four sons, James, John, Archibald, and Jacob. This is where I come in- Jacob married Arabella Merson... Hope the foregoing is useful. I have deliberately left out the female siblings. Shalom!+ Jack Waller
