Dear List: I wanted to share a recent quirky experience that only goes to show how serendipity often plays a large role in Genealogy: Last week I was driving along a rural road here in Minnesota and noted a garage sale sign in front of an apple orchard barn. Being a thrifty sort of person, I stopped at the sale. Upon entering the barn I was greeted by the Orchard's owner, and I was struck by the startling resemblence he bore to my father. I commented on this fact, and dug out a photo of Dad. The Orchard Owner asked my Dad's name, and I replied that, "Oh, you wouldn't know him; he is in Ohio - but his name is Ken Harvey." Well, this man about passed out, for, sure enough, his name was FRED HARVEY, and he was named after his uncle.....in Ohio. Needless to say, Mr. Harvey and I spent a long time there in that barn, and I left with some new Harvey information (and a few less dollars).
