    1. Re: HARVEY family of SC and VA
    2. Hi Poopsie214 -- Have we talked before? A part of your family line sounds very interesting. I think your reference to #1 John Harvey b. 1706 m. Mary with children John, Michael and Thomas is the same as the oldest of 4 brothers that appear in "Historic Southern Families", by John Benett Boddie, Vol 1, pg. 149. Boddie says this John was b. 1701-05. These brothers were the sons of Thomas Harvey from Bedford Co, and Lunnenburg Co, VA. Three of the sons moved to SC and some on southward to GA, AL, LA and TX. The John #2 in your family line is referred to as John Jr., who witnessed a deed of his father in SC. Your birth date of 1767 seems a to old for him however, are you missing a generation? ------ The Boddie reference indicates this John Jr. and family "disappears" and no further information is known of him. I have a John Harvey ancestor b.c. 1750 who was supposed to have been born in VA or SC. He served in the PA line during the revolution and removed to Maine where he married in 1789 and had 7 children. Since he married at age 39, I have assumed he may have had an earlier family and I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to connect him to this same branch of your HARVEY LINE. I also know of another family researcher who is looking for info on the John Harvey who married Goodspring Kirby, but I was not aware that he was connected to the Lunnenburg Co, VA HARVEY'S. I'M VERY INTERESTED IN ANY INFORMATION THAT COULD HELP CONNECT MY JOHN HARVEY ANCESTOR TO THIS VA OR SC FAMILY. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED!
