Dear Harvey List: I must have hit a chord, for I had 34 emails this morning about Melungeons. Needless to say, I think I will have to do a "piece" about Melungeons in The Harvey Genealogist next month! There is nothing (specifically about the Harveys) that I have read so far that does more than mention that Harvey/Harvie is a Melungeon Surname. Of course, I have just "found" the Melungeons, and even more immediately found the Harvey connection TO them. I will certainly research heavily on the topic, and let everyone know what I discover, as I can see that this topic is going to be fascinating to more than just myself!
