(Murphy) Harvey, 66, a member of a well-known Dracut family, died yesterday, July 9, at Lowell General Hospital following a long illness. She was born in Lowell, a daughter of Michael and Mary A. (Scanlon) Murphy. She was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut. She attended St. Patrick Grammar School and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Mrs. Harvey loved Ireland, its people and culture and maintained Irish citizenship. Before retiring, Mrs. Harvey was an assistant court monitor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue in the Lowell office. She was a member of the Association of State, County and Municipal Employees of Massachusetts. Mrs. Harvey is survived by a son, John B. Harvey of Dracut; two grandsons, John B. Harvey Jr. and Justin K. Harvey, both of Dracut; a brother, Raymond Murphy and his wife Doris, both of Dracut; three sisters, Dorothy Murphy, Gertrude McCarthy and Elinor Murphy, all of Dracut; three nephews, Alan Murphy of Nashua, and Garry M. McCarthy and Jerry M. McCarthy, both of Dracut; a niece, Maura Murphy of Florida; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. HARVEY - In Lowell, July 8. at Lowell General Hospital, Mrs. Barbara A. (Murphy) Harvey of Dracut. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home Saturday morning at 9 o'clock followed by a Funeral Mass at STE. THERESE CHURCH in Dracut at 10 o'clock.
