HARVEY in Forsyth County in 1840 & 1850 and in Gwinnett County by the 1860 census. >> Hi, Wow, I just subscribed to this forum today, haven't even posted my own query yet and already got a "hit". Ellen...., George M. Harvey and Murcila Martin were my GG Grandparents. After he and Murcila/Mursylea married, they settled in Gilmer Co. GA and were there in the 1850 census. They moved to DeKalb Co., AL by 1860, where George served in the AL cavalry during the "War Between the States". They then moved to Hot Spring Co., AR where I believe Murcila died in 1870, possibly in the birth of her 11th child. George remarried in 1872 to a woman 20 years his junior and they had an additional 6 children. George died there in 1900 and is buried at Morning Star Cemetery outside of Hot Springs, Garland Co., AR. I BELIEVE that I know the identity of George's parents, but don't yet have proof. I also believe that they may have migrated to GA from Rutherford Co., NC, but, at the moment, that's mostly based on conjecture. How do you like that for a response to your query? Regarding Ezekial P. Harvey. I was in Gilmer and Forsyth Cos., GA last December doing research and I remember seeing Ezekial's name and thought then that he was probably related, but don't remember right now why I thought he was. I have a stack of paper about a foot high that I collected on my 9 month genie research trip that took me thru 9 states and still haven't gotten it all organized and posted yet. Info on Ezekial is probably buried in the stack. Since my return a couple of months ago, I haven't much time to do anything but send and receive email on the various family lines that I researched and am just now starting with my Harvey line. I've got lots more of course, but don't want to overburden this Harvey forum. I think that I have a line on Murcila's family, but am waiting at present for additional info from a Martin researcher who is, at this moment, in Gilmer Co., doing research. How are you related to George and Murcila? You said you're looking for his parents and also that you don't know what happened to him after they were married, which leaves me wondering what you do have on them. Is Ezekial your connection? Are you familiar with the use of GEDCOM to exchange files? If so, let me know and we'll go from there by direct contact. If not, let me know and I will send you a set of simple step-by-step instructions on using it. Bill Harvey My Harvey line: (Posted for ALL Harvey researchers) George M. Harvey b: NC m.
