I need help in telling which William Harvey is which. There were 2 William Harvey as per deeds in Charlotte County VA on Cub Creek about 1764. William Harvey Senior and William Harvey Junior. One of these harvey's were the son of Thomas Harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame and the other was the son of either William Harvey who married Mrs Elizbateh Mikel or the son of Charles Harvey Senior and Mary Holcombe. The question is which is which. I have seen some people try to combine both as one person. But deeds and records show there were 2 William Harvey;s.. One was William Harvey who married Drucilla Unknown. and had the following children. 1) Jack D. Harvey married Clarissa Reid 2) Elizabeth Harvey who married Harvey Paulette 3) Sarah Harvey who married James Clark 4) Frances Harvey who married William Overton 5) Polly B. Harvey who married Isham Richardson This William was also known as Goose Creek Harvey and in most genealogies is listed as a son of Thomas harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. His wife Drucilla was once believed to be Drucilla Harvey daughter of Thomas Harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. But if this is William is the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Harvey then Drucilla would be his sister. If this William was not Thomas and Elizabeth Harvey' son but a son of say Charles Harvey who stayed in Virginia then Drucilla could be his Cousin who he married just as Charles Harvey his brother married Frances Harvey daughter of Thomas Harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. Does anyone have information on this Harvey who married drucilla.? The other harvey often called William harvey junior and said to be a son of William Harvey senior who married MRS Elizabeth Mikel, was said to have the following children: 1) Thomas Harvey served in the Rev. War died about 1838 2) Jesse Harvey married Sally jackson 3) Polly Harvey married John Johnson 4) Betsey Harvey married Lewis hammond 5) Nancy Harvey married James Bailey 6) Tabitha Harvey married Peter Fore 7) Richard harvey married Peggy Field. No wife is listed for this William Harvey. A genealogy done on the John Wheeler family list the following on a William Harvey Senior. William harvey Senior was 1st married to a Sarah Unknown. No other wives listed. Will - Dec. 13, 1813 Will book 3 , page 263 Campbell co. VA. Will list 5 sons and 3 daughters. Does any one have a abstracted copy of this will that would list names on the will and who his children were. In the Wheeler genealogy one of William and sarah Harvey's children was a Captain Thomas Harvey who served in the Rev. War. He was born Mar. 22, 1762 per Pension file. He was married about 1786 to a Elizabeth Glover daughter of Samuel Glover and Judith Benning. Thomas harvey's grandparents were listed as Thomas harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. This Thomas appears to be the same Thomas I have listed above born to a William harvey Junior son of William Harvey and Elizabeth Mikel. The Wheeler Genealogy says that Thomas is the grandson of Thomas harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. So William and sarah Harvey our Thomas and Elizbath Harvey's son and not William Harvey and drucilla unknown as some genealogies list. Thomas Harvey and Elizbath Glover had a son named William P. Harvey who I posted other information about on previous emails. It appears that William P. Harvey may be from Thomas Harvey and Elizbateh Blassingame from other information on Women who were married to him. If this is so then William goose creek harvey could not be the son of Thomas Harvey and Elizabeth Blassingame. He must be William Harvey junior son of either William Harvey senior or Charles Harvey senior and Mary Holcombe. Does any one have any documented evidence on which is which. Can anyone provide documents that will shed some light on this mystery. Joel Vincent Harvey was born in 1764 in Bedford Co. VA and married in Charlotte County VA.. His father may have stayed in VA or he stayed with his Uncle when he married as he does not appear in the records at this time in 1782. William P. Harvey, Jr. married second time to Milly Brown ( my Grandfather was named after her, Edgar Brown Harvey) and had Elizabeth (Betsy), John (Jack) Harvey, Francis ( Franky), Mary (Polly), and Sarah ( Sally). William's 3rd. marriage was to Drucilla ( Paulette ?) and had no issue. William's father was William Harvey, Sr. (48) who married Sarah?.
