My most wanted Harveys are the parents of William H. Harvey. William was born in 1828 in either Meigs Co., TN. or Withe Co., VA. He died November 1864, near Ledhill Arkansas. He was a Confederate soldier from Missouri in the Civil War. He first married Sarah Dethrage, July 15, 1848, in Meigs Co., TN. They had one child, Lavina Harvey abt 1849, in TN. Then they had a son, John Harvey abt. 1853 in Arkansas. Sarah must have died about then. William married Rebecca Corena Griffith (marriage license spells it Griffis), Nov. 20, 1854, in Polk Co., MO. They had 3 children together, David Allen Harvey (1860), my great-grandfather, Artesmitta Elizabeth Harvey (1855), and Phebe Harvey(1857). Rebecca spoke Cherokee in her home. I believe Rebecca's mother's name was Mandy or Amanda and that she was full-blood Cherokee. William's mother may have been Phebe ?. Phebe married a Samuel Davis and then a John Gardner in TN. after William's father died. I have seen one reference that said William's father was born in England. If this is familiar information to anyone, I would like to hear from you. MaryNell Fowler Lenexa, Kansas

All help appreciated! Jeanine in Charlotte

My most wanted Harvey is Nancy Harvey, born ca 1780 in Surry Co., NC. Nancy marries a Isham Young (b. April 1860 in Pittsylvania Co., VA), and, it is believed Isham had other wive(s) before marrying Nancy. Note the twenty years difference in their age. Isham and Nancy lived in Rowan/Wilkes/Surry Counties, North Carolina before settling in Roane County, TN. Isham and Nancy are very much tied in with the William Harvey (b. 1749 in Orange Co., VA) and Lenah Gentry (from Dan Harvey's query), and, both settled in the Roane County, TN about the same time. It is believed that this William Harvey and my Nancy Harvey are somehow related, but no proof of how they are related has been found. Who were Nancy's parents? Is Nancy a sister, a cousin, to William. No record has been found to support that Nancy could be a daughter, but, am still looking for a possibility that she is. Would appreciate any help in my search for my Nancy Harvey's family, Billie Miller (female)
