    3. I am looking for info on E.E. Harvey of Hillsboro, Texas Born Nov 1876 in Kentucky, Married Alice M (Dollie) McCollom on 22 May 1901 in Hillsboro, TX On 1900 TX Census E.E. Harvey is working at the Fire Department in Hilsboro TX. On the 1910 TX Census he isn't there, she is listed as Mrs. E.E. Harvey (head of household) and her marital status is Wd (widowed?). He worked as a driver of the fire truck. There are other Harvey's in Hillsboro - Ben S., Edgar L., Elbert C. and Hardin and they are related to each other, but I haven't been able to figure out if E.E. Harvey is related to them or not. 3. Hello Harvey Researchers, I have received some more information about the Matthew Harvey Homestead. Please be sure to direct your requests to Ms. Lowe concerning this information and offer. ===========8<========snip=================8<========snip============ From: "Muster Field Farm" <musterfieldfarm@iamnow.net> I recently wrote to you informing you of the fact that Muster Field Farm, the Matthew Harvey Homestead in North Sutton, New Hampshire recently obtained an E mail address. I would also like to let you know that two books have recently been published by the museum. "Muster Days Tradition 1787-1850" by Sutton author Jack Noon, captures the region's patriotic enthusiasm from the Revolutionary War, through the War of 1812 and beyond, including the role of the Harvey family members in the muster tradition. Researched from state and town archives, town histories, early newspapers and private collections of unpublished letters and documents, this study sheds light on the little known aspect of the Granite State's past. This illustrated book can be purchased for $20.00 plus $2.00 shipping and handling. Also this year a recipe book "Muster Field Farm Recipes" was produced. The recipe book contains recipes of New England favorites such as Indian Pudding, Maple Apple Crisp, blueberry cream cheese pancakes, corn chowder, red flannel hash, to name a few. Every recipe contains ingredients grown at Muster Field Farm. This illustrated book may be purchased for $10.00 plus $2.00 shipping and handling. To order either book send a check to Muster Field Farm Museum, (indicating which book (s) ) to : Muster Field Farm Museum, PO 118, North Sutton New Hampshire 03260. Thank you. Larry is on the Washington Co., KY mailing list and this came through that listing. I noticed it because of the Harveys and when I looked at the post, they were posting a Lewis Harvey whose parents were John Harvey b abt 1773 Va and Nancy Lewis b abt 1773 Va. John Harvey's father ws John Harvey b abt 1750 Va. Nancy Lewis's parents were Samuel Lewis b abt 1745 Va and Plotemia Harvey b abt 1753 Va. 2. In a message dated 8/7/2000 2:20:21 PM Pacific Daylight Time, LilEllen55@aol.com writes: << I am searching for information on George M. HARVEY in Forsyth County in 1840 & 1850 and in Gwinnett County by the 1860 census. >> Hi, Wow, I just subscribed to this forum today, haven't even posted my own query yet and already got a "hit". Ellen...., George M. Harvey and Murcila Martin were my GG Grandparents. After he and Murcila/Mursylea married, they settled in Gilmer Co. GA and were there in the 1850 census. They moved to DeKalb Co., AL by 1860, where George served in the AL cavalry during the "War Between the States". They then moved to Hot Spring Co., AR where I believe Murcila died in 1870, possibly in the birth of her 11th child. George remarried in 1872 to a woman 20 years his junior and they had an additional 6 children. George died there in 1900 and is buried at Morning Star Cemetery outside of Hot Springs, Garland Co., AR. I BELIEVE that I know the identity of George's parents, but don't yet have proof. I also believe that they may have migrated to GA from Rutherford Co., NC, but, at the moment, that's mostly based on conjecture. How do you like that for a response to your query? Regarding Ezekial P. Harvey. I was in Gilmer and Forsyth Cos., GA last December doing research and I remember seeing Ezekial's name and thought then that he was probably related, but don't remember right now why I thought he was. I have a stack of paper about a foot high that I collected on my 9 month genie research trip that took me thru 9 states and still haven't gotten it all organized and posted yet. Info on Ezekial is probably buried in the stack. Since my return a couple of months ago, I haven't much time to do anything but send and receive email on the various family lines that I researched and am just now starting with my Harvey line. I've got lots more of course, but don't want to overburden this Harvey forum. I think that I have a line on Murcila's family, but am waiting at present for additional info from a Martin researcher who is, at this moment, in Gilmer Co., doing research. How are you related to George and Murcila? You said you're looking for his parents and also that you don't know what happened to him after they were married, which leaves me wondering what you do have on them. Is Ezekial your connection? Are you familiar with the use of GEDCOM to exchange files? If so, let me know and we'll go from there by direct contact. If not, let me know and I will send you a set of simple step-by-step instructions on using it. Bill Harvey My Harvey line: (Posted for ALL Harvey researchers) George M. Harvey b: NC m. 3. Hello, I am looking for some help from someone researching Harvey"s in Missouri. I am trying to locate the where about's of Joel Griffith Harvey. Joel's parents Oliver H. Harvey and Elizabeth Hartley along with their other sons Otis M., William H., and Albert H. came west in March of 1867 to Urich, Henry Co. Missouri. They located on a farm five miles from Urich where they resided until Oliver's death on Dec. 23, 1894. Elizabeth remained on the farm until her passing on Oct. 25, 1903. Joel Griffith Harvey was born on the family farm in 1872. I have a copy of a newspaper write up from Dec. 27, 1894 where is has him attending school at Chillicothe, Missouri, he planed on staying there until March of 1895. On Nov. 5, 1093 Joel was working for the Farmer's Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Henry Co. Missouri. Another writhe up I have from Dec. 3, 1903 Joel and his wife were living in Brushy, Mo.. >From Albert H. Harvey's obit, dated August 30, 1946, it said he was preceded by a brother Joel G. Harvey, who in former years had lived in Urich, Mo. Thank you, Doreen

    2. Greetings and Salutations! I am diligently searching for two E P HARVEY's:. Ezekiel P. Harvey was born Sept 9, 1813 in NC. He died in Gwinnett (now Barrow) County on Dec 26, 1897. Elenor P. MARTIN Harvey was also born in NC. She moved to Forsyth County with her family before 1840. She moved to Gwinnett by the 1860 census and had 13 year old Luvenia BLALOCK living with them. Elenor and Ezekiel never had any children that we know of or that grew to adulthood. Elenor died before Jan 21, 1863 as Ezekiel P. HARVEY married Elenor's brother's widow, Letta PRUITT Martin on January 22, 1863. Elenors parents may be Robert & Nancy MARTIN of Forsyth Co., GA. Lettie and Ezekiel have two children together: Eliza, b. 1864 and James A. "Bud" HARVEY, b. about 1867. Elenor, Lettie, and Ezekiel are all buried next to each other in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Barrow (used to be Gwinnett) County, GA. Other suranmes linked with this HARVEY line are: MARTIN, BLALOCK, ROCKMORE, CHEEK, BOSS, PRUITT, CLACK, WOODS. Thank you. Ellen LilEllen55@aol.com

    1. [HARVEY-L] Rev.Isaac HARVEY (born 1786, Wilkes County, Georgia)
    2. J. C. Marler
    3. To All, Since this is my first message to the HARVEY list, I should introduce myself by specifying my relationship to the family HARVEY. I am the son of Eleanor May SCAIFE and Dunn Craig Marler. Eleanor May SCAIFE was the daughter of Ida May SLOAN and Charner Augustus Scaife. Ida May SLOAN was the daughter of Della Amanda COX and Joseph Dudley Sloan. Della Amanda COX was the daughter of John Calhoun COX and Sarah ("Sallie") Elizabeth Allen. John Calhoun COX was the son of Amanda Melvina HARVEY and Samuel Waller Cox. Amanda Melvina HARVEY was the daughter of Rev. Isaac HARVEY and Sarah Garland Napier. Amanda Melvina HARVEY was married twice, also leaving numerous descendants in the family STELL. A better view of this system of kinship may be seen at: http://www.crosswinds.net/~marlerjc/index.html Isaac HARVEY, according to different memoranda handed down among the descendants of Amanda Melvina HARVEY (ABT 1811 - AFT 1854), Samuel Waller COX (7 June 1808 - 1837), Helen Marr HARVEY (ABT 1811 - 1877), and Oliver Wiley COX (11 June 1802 - October, 1852), was a backwoods revivalist in Georgia, either of Presbyterian or of Methodist persuasion, who married Sarah Garland NAPIER (23 January 1791 - AFT 1811) against the wishes of her putatively irreligious father, Thomas B. NAPIER (1 November 1768 - 30 September 1838). Some investigators, including Timothy Bidleman (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=timothybidleman&id=I 09460), report that Isaac Harvey was the son of Rev. John HARVEY (1749, Virginia - 1823, Clarke County, Georgia) and a Margaret UNKNOWN, who were married ABT 1769/70. One of these investigators, Larry Alexander (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=lra001&id=I01705), i ndicates that Rev. John HARVEY, who seems to have been a Baptist minister, was a resident of Wilkes County, Georgia in 1785, the same county as that in which Isaac HARVEY was born in 1786. From the documentary information given at the end of this message, it is demonstrable that Rev. Isaac HARVEY had at least 4 siblings: 1. Ruth HARVEY (ABT 1773 - probably BEF 15 January 1808): m. Benjamin KENDRICK (died before 2 March 1812), 1791 2: James HARVEY (ABT 1775, Virginia or Georgia - AFT 15 January 1808 and BEF 7 March 1808, Baldwin County, Georgia) 3: Sarah ("Sally") HARVEY (ABT 1779, Virginia or Georgia - 1841, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana): m. David FLUKER (28 April 1774, Georgia - AFT 1840, Louisiana), ABT 1806 4: John HARVEY (ABT 1781, Virginia or Georgia - ?) At the moment, the only evidence of which I am aware for the parentage of Rev. Isaac HARVEY and, therefore, of his siblings, is circumstantial. If anyone seeing this message may be aware of any evidence for his parentage which is better than circumstantial, I will be most grateful to be furnished with information. Any other information concerning Rev. Isaac HARVEY, of course, will also be welcome. Family-group information for Rev. Isaac HARVEY, as best as I have been able to construct it from materials available from the families COX and NAPIER and from other sources, accompanied by documentary notes, appears below. Pending additional evidence, what I present here should be regarded as subject to revision. Thanking all of you for your help, I am Sincerely yours, /s/ Jack Marler, fourth great-grandson of Rev. Isaac HARVEY ++++++++++++++ Family-Group Data for Rev. Isaac HARVEY Rev. Her name, place of birth, date of birth, and place and date of marriage were best preserved among the descendants of her grandson, Elisha Carson COX (9 December 1836 - ?). It was also among the descendants of of Elisha Carson COX that corresponding information was preserved concerning Rev. Isaac HARVEY. Note 4: James HARVEY signed his Will on 15 January 1808.
