I can find NO marriage between any HARVEY and HOWELL, but there are *numerous* little Harvey HOWELLs and Harvey NICHOLSONS on the 1850, 1860, etc Polk Co. TN census records, all grandchildren of Robert Henry HOWELL and wf Dorothy Vina BRIGGS of this area, 1820s--1920s. There's gotta be a reason; else why would there be a half-dozen of them? I am researching a Harvey family in England. My great-grandmother was Emma Harvey - b. 1832, Birmingham, England - she married Edwin Webb 1856 in Aston. They emigrated to the U.S. about 1873 where they lived in Kings County, Brooklyn, New York, at 322-20th Street. Emma's father was Richard Harvey who married Eliza Thomas - 1826, Leicestershire, England, daughter of William and Elizabeth Thomas. His father was Richard Harvey - his mother Dorothy Summers - and they lived in the Parish of Netherseal in the County of Leicester, England. I am reasonably sure that I have relatives here in the US since several children came over with the parents. Their names were Ernst, Maud A. Edmond, Emily, Louisa Helen and John. Louisa Helen was my grandmother who married Frederick A. Miller in 1891, in Brooklyn. Any information on this family either in the US or England greatly appreciated.

Hello HARVEY hunters; I am trying to locate Viola A. HARVEY b.10 August, 1850, Kirby Twp, Caledonia Co., VT who married Luman H. PAGE on April 4, 1871 in St Johnsbury, Caledonia Co., VT. Luman was also born in St. Johnsbury in 1850. The only child I know of for sure was Harry Elmer PAGE born June 22, 1881 in St. Johnsbury, VT. There is some vague mention of a brother to Harry but nothing definite. Apparently, sometime after 1881 the family moved to Portland, ME, where Luman was either a building contractor or was similarly employed in the building industry for a number of years. They then moved to Willows, Glenn Co., CA, about 1906-1910. Luman was invvested in a lumber sales outlet in Willows for several years but his business went bankrupt and contact was lost with Luman, Viola and Harry. I had thought to find Luman and Viola in the Willows, CA area but a search of the CA Death Index found that Luman PAGE died August 7, 1922 in Alameda Co., CA, and Harry PAGE died October 19, 1929 in San Francisco Co, CA. No trace of Viola was found and she may have remarried into another surname we have no knowledge of. Glad to see the Harvey list back up. I have just finished keying in the descendants of Humphrey Harvey of Sommersetshire England. This line includes the two brothers William b. 1614 England and Thomas b. 1617 who settled in the Dorchestor area of Mass. in 1636. It can be seen on my geocities webpage along with the descendants of Silas Harvey and my Garwood, Shinn, and Platt lines. The address is in my signature. My earlist know Harvey ancestor is my 3rd Great Grandfather Silas Harvey Sr. b. 1795 Ma. according to the 1850 Ashtabula Co. Oh. Federal Census. In Oct. 1813 he was inducted into the NY. State Militia in Clarence Twp. Niagara Co. (Erie Co. after 1821) NY. Alson in the same area at this time was Joshua Harvey b. 1769, James Harvey b. ca 1862 d. Jan. 1813 in an epidemic along with his wife, Caleb Harvey b. 1784, Christopher Miner Harvey b. ca 1791, James Harvey b. 1790, and Amos Harvey b. 1794. By 1820 Silas Sr. was in Conneaut Twp. Crawford Co. Pa. with a wife Rachel Paden b. ca 1797 Luzerne Twp. Fayette Co. Pa. daughter of the Quakers Isaac and Rebecca Garwood Paden. By 1830 Silas had moved a few miles to the west into Richmond Twp. Ashtabula Co. Oh. In the mid 1850's Silas and Rachel divorced and both returned to Crawford Co. were Silas d. Apr. 1862 and Rachel d. sometime after 1860. James Harvey b. 1790 left NY. for Lapeer MI. ca 1839 where he died in 1855.
