Hi, My name is Lin Kapinos from Shrewsbury, MA and can you tell me a little more about your Harveys in MA ? I have Harveys out in the western part of MA and I'm interested in where yours are from. Lin
Dear Gordon and Jane, I, too, am working on a John Harvey. Let me tell you my facts that I know already. I have a John Vincent Harvey born 16 Jan 1841 in Searsburg, VT. His parents were Edwin Winfred Harvey (b. 10 October 1815 in Bernardston, Franklin Co., MA) who married Arathusa Amanda Torrey (b. 1 March 1820 in Vernon, Windham Co., VT) on 1 Jan 1835 in Guilford, Windham Co., VT. I have the Torrey line back for many generations. But my Harvey line ends there. Now Edwin W. Harvey was living in Searsburg, VT in the 1850 census and he had a John Harvey (father, uncle ?) living with him at the time. In that census that John Harvey was 73 years old (Edwin W. Harvey was 35 years old) and it stated that he was born in MA. Since Bernardston/Guilford/Vernon are in the tri-state area (MA-VT-NH), I was wondering if you had heard of this branch of the Harvey family ? Family history has it that Edwin W. Harvey's mother was Native American from NY state but I have no leads out there either. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. Lin
The Harvey line that I am researching is: Eliza Ann Meserve Harvey b. 12 Jan 1818 in Massachusetts and d. 18 Aug 1858. She married in 1841 to Silas T. Gushee b. abt 1816 in Massachusetts. I think her parents are Edward and Susannah (Hutchinson) Harvey. Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated.
One lonely Harvey name is holding me up, Malinda Harvey seems to want to remain in hiding--HELP!!! Malinda Harvey b 12 Sept 1812 in Henry Co. TN. d 28 Feb 1870 McKinney, Collins, TX. Married Edward Burton. Children: Samuel Harvey, Clementine Cordelia, Solomon Eldridge, Rachael Caroline, and James K. Polk.

I have posted my Harvey family line back to 1790 with William Franklin Harvey at http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/a/r/Deborah-R-Harvey/ Please visit the site and let me know if you have any additional information which will assist me. I'd be happy to share any other info that I might have with anyone out there. At this time, I am somewhat stumped as to William Harvey's parents. I have a couple of possibilities but nothing that I can prove yet. Thanks, Debbie
