    3. Marsleen, Do you know any more about the Reuben Harvey you are looking for? My GGF was Reuben Harvey, b6 May 1840 in Morgan Co, IL. He came to Missouri in 1847. He had a brother named James Monroe Harvey. Reuben married Harriet Louise Radcliff on 20 Nov 1859 in Bates Co, MO, where they raised their 10 children. Reuben fought in the Civil War - he was wounded at the battle of Lone Jack in 1862. Reuben died 17 Jan 1904 in Oakesdale, WA. If you think this might be the same Reuben, please contact me. 3. All John and I have been working this line some, him more than me and sounds like he may have a handy place for it, possibly he could take the lead on this. My research is limited to what can be dug up by internet, since my folks are from Ind and I live in Georgia, I only get to Ind every couple years. We can hang together and maybe put some meat on the skeleton we have thus far. I have submitted my first 4 gen to John, and its at that point they split, but hoping to share his and mine to build a better understanding of the whole mess, I am also working the Hadleys and Clouds, both of which intertwine with the Harveys. We'll just have to work on it. Ken Cloud John Mahlon Harvey wrote: > Hi Ken and all, > > I too am a descendant of William Harvey (1678-1754). 3. JoAnn, Yes to the answers of all your questions. you know I am related to the HARVEY's that come from Monroe Co. Wv. and Orange co. Va. but the NC catches my eye, because Joseph Harvey, was in the REv. War in Va. then he went to NC, and then to Ky. Also my John M. Lawrence, who married Betsy Harvey, daughter of Joseph Harvey and Lucy Ballard, is said to have been born in 1795 in NC. Wouldn't it be interesting if this branch that you come from does start in NC, and traces back to this other branch. What fun its going to be researching them. Also I would love to Know what that M. stands for. If its MACON, then I know who my John Lawrence was related to. I found a Dr. John Macon Lawrence who was involved with the Ballard and Harvey family in NC. We'll see Like your tag line. Be sure that this man gives you his decendency chart. He may be able to take it back further. See if his is coming out of a book, and what the title is. and what type of documentation he has if any. Pat Pat Pat

    3. Hi Ken and all, I too am a descendant of William Harvey (1678-1754). Count me in! I think this idea of having teams concentrating on specific lines is a ood one. If having space on web servers becomes a problem, I am developing a web site dedicated to three genealogy/historical themes. These themes are 1) descendants of William Harvey (1678-1754), 2) local histories of the communities where they lived, and 3) the manner in which they practiced their Quaker faith. It should see the light of day within the week. I could add a fourth section devoted to this team effort. In any case, I am very pleased with this teams idea. The growing relationship between the harvey-l mailing list and the Harvey Genealogist will help all of us to achieve our common goals. Synergy rules! 3. I am looking for a Rueben Harvey and James Harvey also! The Harvey's that I am looking for were both my great grandfathers and at some time or another they lived in Missouri! I think the James Harvey that I am looking for died in Elsberry,Missouri in the Late 1950's or sometime in the 60's. I was very young and I barely remember him! His nickname was "Jim Crook"........I don't know why he got that nickname! He was my Mother's grandfather and Rueben Harvey was my Father's grandfather! I don't know if the two Harveys were related or not! James Harvey had several daughters: Izora----Artie Mae----Wanda Mae---and I think there were 2 more girls! Reuben Harvey had at least 3 daughters: Rose Velt---Nellie---and Elizabeth(Lizzie) If you have any info on any of this would be greatly appreciated! Thank [email protected] Marsleen Kerr JoAnn L. 3. Pat, do you think we could widen the focus a little, say: HARVEYS, NC to IN c. 1830s, for instance? I have a contact this morning that is saying, well, here is his note: "I following a Harvey line in Grant Co. Indiana that starts in Randolph Co. NC. If you find that James M. Harvey is connected let me know." Of course, I am writing him to get more; (because he sure didn't give me anything to work with - they probably connect, wouldn't you suspect?) but, there are not going to be very many who connect to Reuben -- he only had two children and 5 grandchildren. I know all of them. I think if we refine too much, the project could stall. If there is another IN researcher perhaps we'd better work together until we get enough HARVEYs in IN to determine a distinctly different family and then divide. What do you think? Also I am designing a new "tag line" to use with HARVEY research, I will attach it here, what do you think?
