Of Oak Creek, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on October 23, 2009. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Julia (nee Plevak). Loving father of Daniel (Diane) of Punta Gorda, FL. Proud grandfather of Matthew, Andrew, Jennifer and Timothy. Great-grandfather of Christina and Sean Hartwig. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. He was past President and Secretary / Treasurer of Oak Creek Employee Union and past Secretary of St. Matthew's Holy name Society. Herman was an Army officer in World War II serving in the Pacific Theater where he was awarded two Bronze Stars and several other medals. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at 11AM at Divine Mercy - 13th (1304 Manitoba Ave., South Milwaukee). Visitation at the church 10AM until time of Mass. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery to follow.
