My grandfather is Walter Richard Paul Hartwig and on his birth record (Griefswald, Germany) his parents are listed as Johann Hartwig and Carolina Krohn. I received a letter back with his birth record and it says that his parents lived in Griefswald only for two years. Soooo....I paid a geneologist to find out who his relatives are. Walter was born in 1896 but died in Colfax, California I believe in 1980. I do not have his record in front of me. We could be related and I should find out within the next few weeks if he has any brothers or sisters. I did find him in Hamburg several times so we should find out things soon.
