We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Caroline HARTWIG which was taken at the N. Petersen Studio in Henderson, MN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Caroline likely in her teens at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has also written "Cousin" on the back of the photograph. I'm hoping to locate someone from this HARTWIG family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

John was an older brother - the 1900 census taker misstated that relationship, I think - and Fritz died in 1891, therefore missing from the household.
