John Sloat (Putnam County) of Carmel who died on March 18, 1859 at the age of 72. He was married to an Eliza ____ who apparently died in 1869 leaving money and/or property to neces Elizabeth Ann Getler, Lucinda Tompkins (possibly connected to my family), and then Eliza Ganung, Hester Ann Ganong, Euphemia Ganong, John Boyd, Henrietta Warren, Sarah Hart and John Hart, grandchildren of her husband. Eliza was his 2nd wife. Also mentioned are Phebe and Sally Slawson (Slauson), William Taylor, Ambrose Ryder, and David Lockwood. Hope this is useful.
