For Tim Cooke Have you read the book "Hart of Donegal" which was pulished privately in 1907 by Colonel H.T.Hart, CBE. I haven't seen it (and seem unaccountably to have wiped an email from someone who has) but I do have a chapter in Amy Young's 1930 "Three Hundred Years in Inishowen" which she starts by writing "Practically the whole of the following account has been taken from" etc. A quick scan of the chapter doesn't find me your Margaret Harte, mostly because Amy's chapter concentrates on the early history of the family where it intermarries with the family she is interested in, ie Young of Culdaff, but I presume that the Hart book itself has more on the 1840s etc. Alternatively, if you do have it, can I request some photocopies of the bits I'm interested in? Good luck, Charlie Clark
